The latest in a string of awards has just been won by Restaurant Michael Caines at ABode Glasgow, aka the Arthouse. Superb,  'amazing grazing' lunches (3-courses £12.95) a triumph. Chef Craig Dunn's food is better than ever.

Loch Ness Lodge has also been gathering-in awards. It's a beautiful, 5-star house with outstanding rooms and a fine dining restaurant overlooking the famous loch. Ross Fraser is another gifted young Scottish chef on the up.

Head chef Jean-Baptiste Bady of Kinnaird in Perthshire was presented with the Chef of the Year trophy by Lady Claire Macdonald, our patron, at The Scottish Hotel Awards 2009 gala in Glasgow on March 1st.
